CAREER OPPORTUNITIES: Field Sales Engineer

Join a well-established, growing and family oriented rep firm who handles global leading manufacturers of innovative heat transfer and process equipment technology in the mid-Atlantic region in an outside field sales engineer role.

 Expectations & Responsibilities:

  • Drive and close technical sales equipment solutions with customers in all major industrial markets including chemical, food, and pharmaceutical, etc.
  • Collaborate with manufacturer(s) on process equipment solution(s) and sales strategies
  • Coordinate technical sales proposals and present to customers
  • Lead the sales proposal follow up process and close business
  • Local car travel in front of key customers 2-3 days per week
  • Occasional national (and sometimes international) travel for technical training at sales rep meetings at our manufacturer’s locations

Successful candidate traits:

  • 5 years plus successful experience in industrial / process equipment technical sales
  • Excellent listener
  • Strong technical aptitude – high abstract reasoning skills
  • Strong sales aptitude – high ego strength
  • Strong communicator – on telephone, in e-mail and in group technical presentations
  • Strong ability to develop and cultivate long term relationships
  • Self-directed, driven and able to function in a technical sales matrix environment with manufacturer’s regional sales manager and engineering support staff
  • Proven ability to manage own schedule and set up ongoing appointments with key customers
  • Strong in developing credible value-added process equipment solutions
  • Demonstrate creativity in seizing opportunities and in implementing equipment solutions which create mutual value
  • Strong business acumen
  • BS in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering preferred
